Welcome to the Pride Family!

We’ve created this page to provide easy access to important information and resources for you — and your student. We hope you’ll visit our campus frequently (or as often as your student will allow!) and tour our beautiful city, here in North Carolina’s heartland.

You can also stay in touch by signing up for our PrideLine email newsletter if you have not already done so. Email your name, your student’s name, and their SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ ID number to Elena Henry at ehenry@greensboro.edu. She’ll make sure you get on the list.

Academic

What documentation does my child need to submit to SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½?

Please sure your student submits their final high school transcript to SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ in addition to any related college transfer courses. More details can be found online.

What is a FERPA form?

The FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) form allows us to share academic, personal, and financial information with the people you have listed on this form. Students must and click “Student†tab to complete this process.

What if my student has accessibility needs?

The Office of Academic Accessibility at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ facilitates wellness and academic success for all students by providing the ongoing, comprehensive support they need to thrive. The office also advocates for students with disabilities and promotes awareness of disability issues campus-wide.

What if my student needs academic support?

All students, at one time or another, need help with academic questions: What should I major in? How can I improve my study skills? Is a tutor available to help me in a class? What are my graduation requirements? How can I increase my grade point average? Our Academic Services team is ready to help students with all these questions, and many more. Please visit the Academic Support page to read up on more details.

Student Development

What are my student’s residence options?

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ has 3 on-campus residential facilities which house about 50% of all students. Each facility has live-in student and professional staff members that assist residents and connect them to SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ resources. Each building also includes laundry facilities, lounges, and vending machines.

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ students are required to live on-campus unless they commute from their permanent home address that is within 50 miles, they have earned 60 college credits, or are married. For additional information please email reslife@greensboro.edu or visit Residence Life.

What health and wellness services are available to my student?

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ offers on-campus health and counseling services free of charge to students.

Full-time undergraduate students also have access to on-line health and counseling support 24-hours a day at

What kind of security does SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ have?

Public Safety and Security officers staff campus 24 hours a day to respond to after hours and weekend emergencies. All residence hall buildings are locked and use card access to grant entry only to students living in specific buildings and Student Development and Public Safety Staff.

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ has upgraded many of our residential and academic buildings with hallway security cameras.

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ utilizes an emergency text alert system to communicate timely and urgent safety information. All students are required to register and parents can also sign-up to receive these alerts at Emergency Alert Sign-Up.

I need to speak to someone at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½. Who should I contact?

The Dean of Students office is available for parent questions. If you need assistance and aren’t sure who to contact or you are concerned about your student and would like to speak with someone, please feel free to reach out to studevelop@greensboro.edu or 336-272-7102, Ext 5227 / Direct Line: 336-343-6100.

How can my student report a facility issue?

Your student should report any facility concerns they have Work orders must be submitted from a greensboro.edu email address.

If my student has filled out a FERPA form, will I receive updates?

No, Faculty/Staff can discuss a student’s academic record based on inquiries, but you will not receive real-time updates on attendance, assignments, grades, or concerns. Faculty track grades independently, and there is no interim standard reporting mechanism, other than mid-term and semester-end grades.

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ class of 2019

“I loved the GC Honors program and SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½. I felt safe and a sense of genuine belonging at the college. I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to complete my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.â€

- Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, Class of ’19, Mathematics Major

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
