As a major in Games and Interactive Media, you’ll study video games as a creative art form, a business, and a powerful medium for storytelling and engagement.

This is an interdisciplinary program. Your coursework draws on creative writing, psychology, communication, art, and kinesiology to help you understand how interactive media captures and holds attention. You’ll examine the philosophy of play, the design principles that drive player engagement, how media technologies shape experience, and the business structures behind game publishing and development. You’ll study and practice game storytelling, game journalism, and the emerging role of AI in interactive media production.

A key feature of this program is project-based learning and continuous portfolio development. From your first courses through your capstone, you’ll build a portfolio of original work 鈥 game designs, media projects, critical writing, and collaborative productions 鈥 demonstrating your skills to future employers and graduate programs. • Consider the business, ethical, psychological, and performance aspects of gaming and interactive media
  • Use AI tools to accelerate game prototyping, narrative design, and media production 鈥 and learn to evaluate and refine AI-generated output critically
